Hello, and welcome to Puzzles for Progress! I hope y'all are doing well.
Before I get to today's puzzles: did anyone have "Indonesian-language YouTube feature" in their Puzzles for Progress predictions? Well, you'd have been right! Some Star Battles of mine have been featured in a YouTube video, in Indonesian, by the channel Crusader Puzzles. (There are English subtitles, though they're imperfect.) I'm curious to hear whether any of y'all speak Indonesian! Regardless, the video's linked if you wanna check it out.
Next, we've got another seven-letter wordle for Puzzles fordle Progress. This one's got some spice to it: solve
And the puzzles! Each one comes with a story today.
I sometimes think about the spatial layout of the puzzle pages when considering which puzzles to make. While I could've made different layout choices, of course, the most natural layout for this one involved a logic puzzle that wasn't square. This was actually somewhat fortuitous, because apart from my recent 123 Star Battle, I haven't played around much in that space! I thought Cell Blocks (aka Shikaku) would be an interesting one for that. I made a 5-by-15: pretty odd. But it gets even better, if you look at the clues: all the evens up to 12 with no repeats. I don't think it's too difficult either! I hope you give it a shot.
I encountered "numeronyms" in two places recently: in the "Puzzle of the Day" of a professor, and online in a Jack Lance thread which had drifted inevitably towards wordplay. This inspired me to puzzlify the situation! It's called L33t Like A Linguist, and it'll require you to figure out how these numeronyms work, and then figure out some more:
As I mentioned recently, my Upon Reflection puzzles have now finished airing in The New York Times Magazine. Well, I thought I'd post the one that was rejected for being too difficult! If you solve this puzzle, you should be appropriately proud. You can also solve my previous Upon Reflection puzzles (which went under the name Mirrored Gallery).
(From time to time, one or two of the above links will be wrong due to carelessness from me. If you find an error, let me know! It’s possible that I’ve fixed it on puzzlesforprogress.net, or that you can deduce the correct link.)
